Josh Giddey — the Melbourne-born NBA star and the youngest player in league history to post a triple-double — is coming to the Gold Coast and Dime Street Basketball is putting him centre court.
AirTouch Above The Rim is a live street basketball spectacle held at Balter Brewery Taproom, Currumbin, Gold Coast — one of the most culturally electric venues on the Coast. The DJ never stops. The court never empties, from the first tip to the final buzzer.
12 registered pickup teams. One half court. 2v2 street basketball. A live dunk showcase. Hip hop dancers. Wild card rules. No dead time. Every moment built for the crowd.
THE VENUE — BALTER TAPROOM
Forget the stadium. AirTouch Above The Rim takes over Balter Brewery Taproom — a Gold Coast icon that transforms from a premium craft brewery into a street basketball arena for one night only. A custom half-court installation sits centre stage, surrounded by court-side VIP booths and seating, live DJ, big-screen entertainment, and fans positioned right on top of the action. This is basketball culture up close.
THE FORMAT
SESSION 1 — POOL WARS
12 teams. 3 pools. Non-stop. First to 7 wins. King of the Court — win and stay on, lose and rotate off.
SESSION 2 — JOSH GIDDEY TAKEOVER
The court clears. Giddey takes over.
A live centre court Q&A with crowd and stream questions — while a curated Josh Giddey highlight package rolls on the big screen. Then two lucky crowd members go head-to-head in the Fan Shooting Challenge, with Giddey crowning the winner on court.
SESSION 3 — THE DUNK SHOWCASE
Lights up. Bass drops. The rim takes a beating.
A live high-flying dunk exhibition that has anchored AirTouch Above The Rim from day one — elite aerial talent throwing down the kind of dunks you usually only see on a screen, live and three feet in front of you. Posters, between-the-legs, off-the-glass — judged by the only panel that matters: the crowd.
SESSION 4 — LAST CHANCE SEMIFINAL
Three pool winners get a bye straight to the semis. Three runners-up fight back-to-back for the fourth and final spot. Semifinals: best of 3. First team to win 2 games advances to the Final.
SESSION 5 — THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Full production intro. Individual player walkouts. Music drops. Best of 3. First to win 2 games takes the AirTouch Above The Rim title.
